I've been busy. Quite busy.

I've been following Adele Walton's work recently through her Instagram account, and I'm looking forward to reading her upcoming book "Logging Off: The Human Cost of Our Digital World" when it releases later this year.

For those who don't know who Adele Walton is, she's a journalist and online safety campaigner - and so she's done a lot of work into investigating digital tech and how it's affected people socially. At a time when AI is inceasingly rampant, I think it's very important that this is covered.

I do admit, however, that I get quite anxious about AI. On one hand, I feel like I should keep up with AI industry news and learn about all the cool going-ons of it, especially since it's massively impacting many industries career-wise right now. There is increasing pressure to adapt to using AI in the workplace, but...do we really need to?

Thinking about Adele Walton's work also reminds me of Johann Hari's "Stolen Focus," where he talked about how our increasing addiction to technology is robbing us of genuine connection. I kinda want Hari to write a book about AI now. I hope he does. I think his perspective would also be interesting to read.

I also read a related book called "12 Bytes: How We Got Here. Where We Might Go Next" by Jeanette Winterson, which is a series of essays discussing how technology has evolved, including how it's connected to the current issues of AI. Again, really insightful book, and brings some great food for thought about how AI could impact us socially, in our careers, and in the rest of our lives and larger society around us.

Unrelated to the above, I've also been trying to clean out my room lately and...wow, I have a lot of stuff. Clothes, especially. I grew up with lots of hand-me-downs and just generally accumulating my own clothes over the years, so I think it's more than about time to clean out my closet and drawers! ^^;

Whenever I think of cleaning, I keep thinking of Marie Kondo and her Konmari Method. Given that a lot of my old clothes still fit me after all these years (some of my shirts, pants, etc. are 5-10 years old), I think sorting them by "what sparks joy" and "what does not spark joy" would be helpful for me. Wish me luck!
